- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease the tin.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Set aside.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and well combined.
- Mix Batter: Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and optional nuts.
- Fill Muffin Tin: Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
- Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
- Cool: Let the muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

- Make It Healthier: Replace half the oil with unsweetened applesauce for a lighter version.
