Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box of vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 can (8 oz) whipped topping (or homemade whipped cream)
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 box of vanilla wafer cookies (about 12 oz)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional for enhanced flavor)
- 1/4 cup sugar (optional for added sweetness)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pudding: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and milk. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
- Layer the Pudding: In a trifle dish or any large serving bowl, begin layering the ingredients. Start with a layer of vanilla wafer cookies, followed by a layer of banana slices, then spread a layer of the prepared pudding over the bananas. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with pudding on top.
- Top it Off: Spread whipped topping over the final layer of pudding. Optionally, garnish with additional banana slices or crushed vanilla wafers for texture.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld. The pudding will set, and the cookies will absorb some of the pudding’s creaminess, giving it a delicious texture.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use homemade pudding instead of instant pudding mix.
- You can also experiment with adding other toppings, such as chocolate shavings, crushed nuts, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
- To make it dairy-free, substitute the milk and whipped topping with plant-based alternatives, like almond milk and coconut cream.
